    Brake Booster issues

We're about to look at the stroke, frankly we've NEVER looked at that. I'm confident that's where the problem is. Also, I've heard of crappy rebuilt boosters too. That may be part of the problem also but I really think something is out of adjustment on the car too.

    Brake Booster issues

I remember that Mars mission. We're talking about a brake booster not a Mars mission. relax. I have a EE degree and am an aircraft mechanic, I'm no rocket scientist. I diagnose a "fail" as 'unit worked then stopped working'. It "failed" to work. The reason I have troubleshot the problem to the...

    Brake Booster issues

I said PSI but I meant inches of mercury...PSI is just easier. I figured it was known I was talking about vacuum so it would be assumed I meant Hg". We've never messed with the linkage. That has to be the problem. Also, thank you for the explanation of how it works, it all makes sense now

    Brake Booster issues

We have gone through 5 brake boosters in the last year. Sometimes they'll last a few months, sometimes a few hours. Anyone else having this type of issue? We are running an external vacuum pump set at 20 psi. Could this be too much and blowing out the diaphram? Frankly, I don't know how these...

    Aircraft and G-forces

The G forces that the human body are not the only limiting factors. When you eliminate the pilot from the aircraft you also eliminate a lot of weight, to include: ejection seat, LOX converters, gauging and displays. You gain thousands of pounds for payload.

    69 Cuda resto

I just ran through this whole thread again. Now that we're down to the "end" (there's always things to be done) I want to thank everyone for their support, advice, and, for some of you, parts. At the beginning of this resto we were told to buy another car and start from scratch. Frankly we...

I don't know, probably just paint up to them in order keep the continuity. The bumpers will cover a lot of it. It'l be something we'll think about later. Right now WE JUST WANT TO DRIVE IT!!!...lol

If you're asking about the ones on the car we're not parting it out..lol. I couldn't tell you where we git ours. Probably the Nats. They're not repops. I had to clean them up and repaint the black in them.

    What does it cost?

Even before we started our resto people would ask if our car was for sale, I would respond "Yep, 1 million dollars". The would say, 'that car's not worth that much', and I reply "It is to me". There more to these cars than market value.

Got the badging and stripes on! Man, it's amazing how much those stripes make the car pop. Crappy garage pics but once we get her washed and waxed and outside I'll post the 'finished' pictures. Six and a half long years, self doubt and doubt from others down the drain!

Where did you get the MEK? I didn't think you could get it anymore. I remember washing my hands in it back in '89 in the Air Force. Any way, I, like you, just came up with a way to fix it. It sounds like yours were in a lot worse shape than mine. I still have a bunch of grille pieces parts and...
