    New Radiator in the Valiant...

I thought about that... But after I installed it, I found I REALLY cant tell on the Valiant, unless I'm really looking. With the hood open, it stands out, though. It doesn't bother me since it's not like my car is an original 'survivor'.

    New Radiator in the Valiant...

I finally had a chance to do a good road test today... This thing is a BEAST when it comes to cooling. No problems at highway speeds or at idle. With the old radiator, I had all sorts of problems, especially on hot days when stopped or moving slow. That is all gone now. This was a great investment!

    New Radiator in the Valiant...

I was having a lot of overheating problems last fall with the Valiant- I replaced just about everything (water pump, thermostat, etc), and still ha issues. My original Radiator had some leaks, and didn't seem to get good flow through it any more, so I decided to replace it with a new one. I...

    New 'Toy' in the shop...

Well, It's installed and working... Makes life a LOT easier. Access is pretty good, too. Of course, there are some things that I will have to jack the car up for so the wheels are off the ramps, but it is SO nice to be able to stand up, or sit down, and work instead of crawl!

    New 'Toy' in the shop...

I agree- The certification or lack thereof is not a deal killer for me, either- While they DO have to prove their lift to get certified they also have to 'pay to play'... There are quality lifts (backyard buddy included) that are not certified. To me that wasn't really an issue, air is readily...

    New 'Toy' in the shop...

Thanks. Yeah, it will be nice once it's up and running. I looked at the backyard buddy lifts, but they were more $$$, and I was already stretching the budget a little with the BendPak. I didn't see much more added value with the BB lifts, in fact to some people since they aren't certified they...

    New 'Toy' in the shop...

I finally did it... I bought a lift! I got tired of jacking up the Valiant and crawling on the floor to work. After a lot of debate and research, I decided that a four post would suit my needs the best. I need it to be moveable since my shop isn't dedicated to working on the cars- I need to get...

Then, Some paint. Candy apple red. White roof- A little orange peel here and there- But I'm pretty happy. I've painted a lot of boats, but this is the first car I've painted. Now, to put it all back together- I've still got lots to do, but I've got the next week off...

    65 Valiant 4 Door

It's been a while since I've posted... I've done a LOT of work since then. First, I got the rest of the paint off- Then, a coat of Epoxy sealer/primer- After the final body work was done over the sealer, I primed the top WHITE- And, The bottom RED. I used House of Kolor KD3000...

    65 Valiant 4 Door

Started stripping the body... She's almost naked! The original plan was to just scuff the paint, prime, and repaint. But, I decided that I might as well just bring it down to bare metal. It really doesn't take all that much longer using the stripping pads that I use, they make really quick...

    65 Valiant 4 Door

A bit more progress... I've started priming some panels. And, The hood/trunk lid- Drivers side doors ALMOST ready for primer- After I finish up any required body work over the grey epoxy, I'll be using House Of Kolor KD3000 RED primer over it. I've decided on a color, too. Body will...

    65 Valiant 4 Door

Grinding started... And, DONE. Turned out decent, Although I am still going to need a BIT of filler... Shhhhh! I'll be working a late one tonight- I'm 'transitioning' from day to night shift (I work a DuPont rotation), so I need to stay up until about 3-4 am...
