The cam lobe on that worn lifter doesn't look obviously flat, but I have to imagine its safe to say that things shouldn't be put back together with that cam in it. That leaves my options at trying a flat tappet again or going down the road of putting rollers in my la block.

Any thoughts on what I have here? Comp cam adjustable rockers with stock hold downs? I read about grinding down the hold downs to gain clearance on the shaft. But those rough sides in pic #2 and #3 can't be right..

I have had to do this to my m1 single plane. The PO had two stripped bolt holes. Helicoils are easy and a very good fix. I duct taped the intake opening closed before hand then vacuumed it all up after the fact, remove tape - good to go.

Yup, I have to agree. I have the 390HP version, only difference is R/T heads. I run msd stuff with a custom 10* bushing from this site. I run 22* and 32* w/ a light blue and light silver. I have 3.91 and an a body 833 with the low first gear ratio.

They do rumble, I think you should be able to make it out in this picture. I hear you on the smaller tire, but wouldnt that negate the gear swap? What I was getting at with the cam is would it still be appropriate after a stroker kit?
