  • I bet it pulls very oddly and it should have the wider shoes on it, you are correct. It should have 10 by 2 1/4 on it. Buy some new ones and swap them both. They are cheap enough and easy enough to do. Rock Auto, $18.50 to $32.50 both sides. Id swap springs and stuff on it to since you are in there. Not much extra cost.
    Good luck!

I am new to this posting stuff. This is my second cuda but has been some time since I owned my first.

I just purchased a 1967 Barracuda Notchback. I am putting new drum brakes on the front and discovered that the right side has the original drum with the spring around it on the outside, and original shoes. This measures 10" ID and 2 1/4" shoes

On the left side someone put a new drum and new shoes. This measures 10" ID and 1 3/4" shoes.

My question is, could they have made a mistake with the shoes on this side as it is not wide enough? The drum is wide enough to except the 2 1/4" wide shoes. Is it ok to just replace with 2 1/4" wide shoes?

Any assistance would be great, thanks
