Bill, You keep showing up in things I'm interested in. ie: TBI, EFI, ignition modifications. Presently I'm looking for a method to install a Dodge EFI on non-Magnum heads, so I can move the Pro-Jection onto my 59, D100's 383. In one of your post you mentioned look at modifying 273 heads, any...

EFI return line, use emissions return?

65 Bcuda, 318, Holley Pro-Jection, Thought I'd throw my two cents in. Since I didn't have a return line available I added a 3/8 line as the new supply and used the original 5/16 line for the return. Punched a hole in the filler tube and sealed a 5/16 SS nipple with JB Weld. A smarter way would...

Whats the oldest daily driver you drive.

This is really easy for me, 1965 Bcuda, July 1966 till I decided to repaint and fix a few dings in June 2010. Will be again as soon as I get the EFI issues resolved. And, oh yes age, 75 and a quarter. ;-)

    up and down idle

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. things to check, distributor vac advance connect to carb "ported Vac", PV valve working properly, double check carb primary and "Most Important" secondary throttle plates are closing. If you have a points distributor check the gapping, twist the rotor to see if...

    Newbie (273 with no fire)

The Mopar electronics distributor is a real nice unit, but the rest of the system is problematic for many users. I would replace both the ballast resistor and control box with GM's HEI D1906 or equiv module. Super simple hookup, two wires from the distributor connect at one end, two wires to the...

Ok, you started this group, what would you like to talk about? I'm a hardware type of guy, not much into making it pretty, but I'm into restoring my 65 Bcuda so maybe a little "pretty will do.

Was It The Right Thing To Do...

I had a male Lab for ~16 years, could not be trusted around "ANY" critters, horses, cows, sheep, goats and especially deer, but was totally trustworthy with children. Having said that, if ether of you have the faintest reservation about the dog's actions get rid of it immediately, better to...

    Looking for better fuel milage

Info only: I gained 17% increase in gas mileage going the Projection route. That's ~20 mpg highway, 17 mixed. Another 2 mpg plus added performance when I swap back to 273 heads, but I take a real hit in >4800 rpm range. Rough estimate of 2 year payback at today $4 + per gal pricing and 10K...

What engine setup (blown small or aluminum big)

Although I love the head snapping response of a highly modified "A" engine, for what you're describing I'd go the "B" engine route. A warmed over 383 should fit the bill nicely, good torque, highly reliable, with a large selection of performance parts available. The torque curve will allow you...

    65 Bcuda forever project

This is sort of a place holder for my ongoing restoration. I'll include pictures as soon as I figure out how that works. As purchased: 1965 Barracuda, gold, 273 2bbl, 4spd, 2.93 peg leg. Present time: 318 TBI, [Holley Projection], 4spd, 3.23 Sure Grip A little background. I bought...

    318 intake manifold fit on a 273?

The early 273 used a smaller head bolt and, this is the problem "a different bolt angle." You can open the manifold mounting holes to allow for the angle but the bolt head does not fit flush. I use 66 and later heads drilled and tapped to accept the normal 3/8 manifold bolts. Now that I think...

    Hemi heads on a poly?

My understanding is the Windsor Poly which was unique to the Chrysler line would accept the hemi head, whereas the Plymouth Poly would not. Regardless the Poly engines which were dubbed "semi hemi" will, with proper porting put out HP numbers comparable to the hemi.
