Thought I'd share...
Over the past winter I got involved in 1/24 scale slot car drag racing.
I built a couple cars, one being a replica of my Dart.
It's all good fun while waiting for the real racing season.
The car will do 50+ actual mph in the scale 1/4 mile (55 feet)

You and I think alike.... I thinking of making one for mine. It will be a lot of work and probably end up costing a few hundred bucks if I was to sell them. Not sure if there is a market for them. You can buy blanks molded out of "carbon fiber" for less then a $100.
Thank you. They did come out very good. The pictures do not do them justice as they are too shiny to take pictures of.
I've had some requests for 2 5/8" so maybe I will cut a couple in my next batch.

The problem with a bar is that if its not fully padded and you wack your melon off it in a crash its game over... Its just easier for them to say no then check the padding is in place. I'd be interested in what they say about a Jeep but I assume that since its OEM they don't make a fuss about...
