I am in the process of finishing putting a 59 dodge on a 2000 dakota chasis. Had to shorten the frame 23 inches and raise the bed floor a few inches to get the stance I was looking for. Other than that the swap was pretty easy. Here is a pic of the stance. Used a 5.9 magnum and 518 46RH trans...

The dipsticks never got swapped. The one from the dakota would work but I just didn't like how far the tube stuck up above the engine. I will use the LA tube and cut the Dakota dipstick to the appropriate length.

No cutting of the firewall was needed. Used a chassis from a 2000 dakota and shortened the frame 23 inches. Used the mid block mounts. The transmission is a 46rh. I will post a pic of the engine installed once I get it in there the next couple days.

Thanks guys. I will just cut the tube and stick for the 5.9 dakota and make it fit. Just thought there might be a bolt on option.

I just talked to the owner on the 67. He said there is some bubbling of paint on the rear portion of the rockers where they meet the quarters. He welded small patches to rear floor and trunk floor. Also a patch was welded in to one of the front frame rails. Said all welding was professionally...
