Agree, however what i am going to do Year One has 15x8 rings sold in sets of 4 only. I am going cut those down to fit my 6” fronts that way I am covering my 8” rears. But dam they are expensive.
That's almost my exact combo
15x8" (4.5 back spacing) 275/70/15 M&H Racemasters
15x6" 215/70/15 BFG Radial T/As
Be advise if your going Rallye wheels , their are not easy or cheap easy trim ring options.
Its really not, every commercial 1/2 ton pickup now makes approx 450. As someone that has owned over 2 dozen 5.0 mustangs since 1993, a super majority of its snappy performance was due to the EFI set-up, the 5.0 came into its own after its introduction. I have witnessed many 300-350 hp 5.0’s...
I guess you could coat the rivet nut with dielectric grease.
I didn't realize they had rivet nus 50 years ago, they should have also used one for the resistor as well .
This one missing nut just caused me to spend $75 :(
Yeah, I have a 71 340 car. I am shocked someone went thru the trouble of installing a rivet nuts so I was assuming that was original. Being 1 hole with a sheet metal screw and 1 hole with a rivet nut I figured something was buggered having two different pieces of hardware.
While doing some tidying up on my firewall and removing my voltage regulator I noticed only 1 of the 2 mounting holes on the firewall had a threaded rivet install.
Question
1. should I have two threaded rivet nuts for both?
2. It appears to be 10-24, this correct.
I can cut down the 3" to fit (if needed) my 6" wide wheel if, but appears no one makes a 4" wide ring to fit a 15x8"
You are totally correct, my last resort was to put it on jack stands and use scotch-brite to convert the finish to brushed.
Yes, 6.5" version exist. Ebay
Yeah, I saw those. To further complicate things I need the brushed finish for 71 and later.
While they are 3" wide that should fit my 6" wide wheel, but the rear trim ring would need to by 4" wide.
I am not in love with the 3" wide ring on 8" wide rim when it stops short of making it to the...
I would like to see pictures if you have them, I think with masking off and marking the inside of ring, I cut use the guide on my Dremel with a cutoff wheel to remove the approx 1/2 of material then finish the edge with some fine>ultra fine emery cloth.
Still I haven't seen anyone offering the...
Still no resolve other then cutting up an expensive set 15x6.5 rings. Correct me if lI am wrong
need a 3” ring (for 15x6)
What ever i decide they need to match my 15x8
