Could you use this shifter ball; it was on my 70 Duster and has been sitting on my bookshelf for years. It's not the real deal but looks good. PM me if your interested and we can talk.
I had a similar 340 stroker built several years ago but with X heads at around 68cc’s; my builder used Ross dished pistons (-18cc’s) and it calculated out at 10.2 compression. I would be concerned too as your pistons note +5cc’s.
Very nice car - do you have the broadcast sheet? Was the tac and ammeter gage not working when you purchased the car or did they just stop working?
Good luck with the sale -
I wouldn't worry about that oil temperature - my DD runs at 250 degrees as well. My 04 Jeep Rubicon has never seen anything above 210 but is is not driven at highway speeds for any distance or time and that is where my DD hits the 250 mark.
does your car have an 8 3/4 housing and 3:23 gear? Does it still have the lockout linkage so transmission has to be in reverse to remove the key from the ignition?
I have a couple of sets of housings and the lenses if you still need them; however I am out of town until 5/22 so unable to send pictures or ship befor then.
Sorry for your loss- too bad the insurance didn't pay up but it may have been his only affordable option to purchase with a three year maturity considering his rare blood condition. Final expenses for medical and funeral costs can be overwhelming; we went through it with my folks not long ago...
