First thing is check your oil psi sending unit which has a tendency to leak having oil to run down to under your engine which make you believe you have a rear main leak or even a oil pan gasket leak..
I am running Mopar stamp rockers with 901-16 springs in my 340 .030 along with a Mopar 509 purple cam, 3500 stall and after 18,000 miles I have had zero issues.
750 Eddy on my 340 .030 over with a mopar purple .509 cam along with 3500 stall and a 9" ford 389 gear set. The 750 works great with this set up. Oh I may add that I also have a Holley Blue electric fuel pump with psi regulator set at 7psi
Ditto. I had to do the exact same when removing my starter from my 340 and I have a mini starter also. The biggest problem I had was removing the electrical clip connector on the top of the starter while the starter was still mounted.
Headers look nice BUT over a short period of time the paint will burn off leaving paint flakes. I have sand blasted them, heated them up to the required recommended temp before applying the VHT 2200 degree High Temp paint coating which is suppose to not peel or flake. Within 100 miles the paint...
The key to this question is I have never used a torque wrench and once you have tightened the bolts down be sure to check and retighten them after the car has reached operating temp. They will indeed need to be snugged up a little more..
I have no studs on either exhaust end water holes. I have regular header bolts and I have not had any leakage problems..Studs vs Bolts? Does not make any difference.
