Thanks for the replies. I just spoke to a local shop and I'm going to take the crank in and have it checked out. As some have said it may be okay, but it may not be. I'd hate to ruin something which would cost more money. Mike

Hi All, I came across a ‘69 340 crankshaft that at one point was balanced with blobs of weld. Is this an acceptable way to balance a crankshaft? I have never seen this before. Thanks, Mike

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll either bend a wrench or make an extended crows foot and see if I can first get it out without removing anything. I have a feeling you are correct and I'll need to remove the distributor in order to get a T-fitting in there. I'll work on it this weekend...
