I forgot to mention about the rope trick, the rockers should have been off. Sorry my bad. Im glad it worked for you any way.

Take a spark plug out and put a piece of rope in that cylinder about 5' long leaving about a foot or so hanging out. Turn the crank until it stops on the rope. Torque it down, back the crank up and pull the rope out, reinstall plug.

John I live 5 miles from the Ohio line and get my gas there every week. It was 3.28 there and 3.99 in Pa. Earlier in the year it was 1.30 A GALLON cheaper to go to Ohio!!!

What kind of lifters? I just installed Lunati (Morel) hydraulic lifters on mine and now I have low oil pressure. The oil band on those are twice as wide as the flat tappets and Im getting leaking out of the bottom. Comp rollers has the more narrow band and that should help it. I just dont want...

I used a Milodon crush proof gasket on my 340 part number 40600. Had the pan off a few times and still no leaks. Its kinda expensive for a pan gasket though,,,, 31.95 but well worth it.

I just had 2 Lunati Micro Trols go bad on me and wiped out 2 cam lobes. I thought they were the top of the line. Didnt even have 50 miles on them. They must have been defective, they had huge chunks chipped off. Never seen them do that before. And yes, the cam was broken in right
