Schumacher headers 440 in 71 Duster

I bought the conversion mounts and torque strap at the same time as I bought my Headers from the Schumacher guy at Carlisle some 7 years ago. Put it all together and drove it for a year like that. A 440 with Stealth heads and six pack set-up. I really didn't like the sound of the open headers so...

    Cooling

I went to the parts store and picked up a rad for a 74 dodge 1 ton dually. It dropped right into my 71 demon. Used a shroud that I got from the local chrysler dealer from the restoration parts book. Regular old clutch fan and the car never goes above 180. Dosn`t matter what the day or temp is...

    440?

I get excited every time I lift the hood of my Demon and see that 440 with a six pack set-up. Nothing beats the feeling of driving an A-body with a big block. The difference in the transmissions is the input shaft and torque converter. Iv'e done the swap a couple of times. I know that the 67 and...

    66 dart 440 rad hoses ?

I took rough measurements of what I needed for my 440 demon. In the back of the parts books for the hoses is a picture library with lengths, bends and sizes. Both dayco, gates have the diagrams. Took all of 5 minutes to find what I needed. Upper is from a chebby celebribity that needed to have...

    Engine wiring harness /6->440 cid

Got mine from Evans Wiring. Called and had them make the coil wires longer so I could mount the coil on the inner fender. Everything hooked up as if the engine were original. Good price as well. He has other harnesses . Kenny B

    Yukon Axles

Thanks for the replies. Mancini's has a set that are 3/16 inch longer but I can't see that working. Probably going to call Dr. Diff first of next week. Kenny B

    Yukon Axles

Bought a set of Yukon axles for my 71 Demon. Stock housing dimensions and the axles are 28 inches in length. I have the green bearings with 3 inch studs. When I bought the housing it had No axles and I was offered a 4:10 or 3:91 center section. I chose the 4:10 with the clutch type sure-grip...

Need some help figuring out water pump/alternator solution

I used the 440 source housing with the inlet on the passenger side. Bought a set of their aluminum pulleys for the pump and crank. Put one of the Denso kits on, also from 440 source. Came with all the brackets and bolted up nice and aligned nice. Runs 180 degrees with no complaints of heating. I...

    smaller master cylinder

I think someone already replied about turning the bolt around. The Wilwood master comes with a slightly longer pushrod to compensate for the addition of the offset block. Pedal height is the same as before the swap. If I'm not mistaken, the offset block is also manufactured by Wilwood. Only...

    smaller master cylinder

I used the offset adapter from Mancini's as well as a Wilwood master also bought from Mancini's. Only problem was modifying the brake light switch bracket to put the pushrod on the other side of the pedal assembly. No problems now. Kenny B

    radiator hose dart 440 swap

I bent a coat hanger in the shape of the hose I needed and then went to my parts store. In the back of the "Gates" catalogue is pictures of all the hoses with measurements. You need to find a patient parts person who isn't having a bad day and go from there. My lower was cut to fit on both ends...

    Griffin Rad fitment issues

Picked up my Griffen rad a few years ago during my build. After many hours and a few choice words I sold it for a loss. Was at the local auto parts store talking to them about rads. Found out that a 26 inch rad for a 1976 dodge 1 ton dually would fit right into my existing brackets. Opened up...
