Oh yeah. Had a locust tree with a huge limb 10 feet off the ground. Used a chain fall to pull motors. Had a bob cat front loader and dug a trench the length of my 67 camaro and just wide enough for the tires to not drop in. lined it with burlap sacks with a bit of local hay inside. Drove the car...
I built a 318 with zero deck, 10:1 compression .043 quench with a comp XE268H and indy LAX heads worked by brian @ IMM. Eddy airgap, 750 double pumper. Ran a 12.96 @ 103 1/4 mile with 3.73's in stock form. Dyno'd at 286 rear wheel horse and 268 rear wheel torque IIRC. Not bad for a...
Oh, I don't know. I should have bushed the lifter bores for the taller hydro rollers or for solid rollers from the get go. In the Roller LA's and magnums I don't think they have these problems...maybe RPM limited as compared to solids. I think the magnums addressed the pushrod/lifter angle...
Didn't use cryo's, I bought PN HUG 15063 PREMIUM SB 1.6 ROCKER ARM KIT W/ SHAFTS CNC'D ALUMINUM ROCKERS. INCLUDES SPACERS, SHIMS & GROOVED SHAFTS.
Ive got about 7000 on this last lifter set and probably 4000 since the last crocus cloth cleanup of the shafts on the lathe. 3 sets of retro...
Yup, I had a plastic line get too close to a header. Going through the gears in a 67 Camaro the plastic got hot enough to blow a bubble in the line before it popped. Smoke everywhere, Thought I torched the motor...nope. Lucky I had a pair of vice grips with me to get it home. No more plastic...
Ive been using Hughes roller rockers and retro roller hydro lifters in a non roller LA block...NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. Ive had the rocker shafts out 3 different times. Some of the rockers over time will begin to gall and causes the rocker to bind. I can hear it at idle and when I take it apart...
I know it's an old thread but....So with an LA factory roller block these mods still need to be done or was some of it addressed at the transition from LA roller to Magnum roller?
Ha, no doubt about the burning eyes. This thing just down right stinks...I'm hoping the EFI will help to reduce that. I did go up 2 sizes on the secondaries and 1 on the primaries on the 4150. It runs 12.5 AFR all the way through a dyno pull...a bit rich at idle. Cats, now there's something I...
Thanks for the responses. Crawling around underneath I can't see any reason why they won't fit. My springs are in the stock location and a stock tank for now. When the Eddy pro flow 4 EFI intake is installed I'll be going with a Tanks Inc Efi tank...may be some fitment issues between them and...
My LA 408 with 2.02 indy LA-X heads shaved to 59cc's, good quench and a hughes ser3438aln-10 zero deck 10.5:1 727 manual valve body in a 68 Barracuda stock trim...runs 11.63 at 119 in the quarter with 3.23's with a 3200 stall from TCS Products in Langley BC Canada. Great converters. It's loose...
Ive got a 68 Barracuda. I'm getting ready to put an Eddy pro flow 4 EFI port injection on my 408 but I want to upgrade the starter and exhaust first. I would like to run 3" TTI headers and pipes all the way out the back but I've been told that there will be fitment issues at the rear spring...
Heck, I made ifrc, 286hp and 265 tq to the rear wheels with a 318 in the car to the left without even trying...XE268H, Indy closed chamber LA-X heads, 10.3:1 comp and pistons .012 in the hole.
Edit: I found the dyno sheet...power at rear wheels remember...

I don't know if lifter geometry could be corrected with bushing the bores to correct or lessen the push rod angle, I would think it could?? If I was to do it again the bores would be bushed. I wonder if the geometry was changed on the magnum and roller LA blocks or if just a taller boss/bore for...
