  • the overdrive transmission is the 518, but this transmission is computer controlled. I would not suggest using the overdrive transmission, it will be too expensive, plus you won't save enough money on gas, to pay for the conversion

I was told that I should put an overdrive transmission with the rebuild Can anyone help me in this area? I'm rebuilding a 67 Barracuda convertible this had the original 273 replaced before me with a 318 so I'm just wanting to redo this engine with maybe an RV cam and keep the 2 barrel. It has the auto on the floor and I was told to find an overdrive. This will be my wife and I cruiser :) Thanks for any help. Mike
I've started working toward restoring a 67 Barracuda Convertible with considerable amount of rust. Found the sub frame and inner fender metal from a 73 dart sport but will need quarterpanels & fenders. Does anyone know any contacts besides new replacements that would help to broaden my potential costs? I want to keep this as low as possible. Thanks for any guidance. Mike
I'm new to the site as well as understanding any Mopar configuration on the A body vehicles. Working on restoring my 67 Barracuda convertible and it was born in Chicago by the VIN. Lots of rust (no wrecks :)) but I need to know if a 73 or 74 duster sub frame parts would work in this car. I was told that they would. Can anyone help me out with this? I know the fenders and quarter panels will be purchased new but the sub frame parts I'm not able to locate. thanks Mike
