About the 61 Newport. I wanted to buy a fin car for the cruiser and to buy a 61 - the last year Chysler had fins. I looked for 2 years and almost bought a silver coupe. One day I found my convertible for sale. Bought it on the spot.

After buying it I found out that in 61 Chysler only built 2134 Newport convertibles. Only 46 of them are accounted for today. I bought a rare car and did not even know it. I bought the car because it was in great condition, everything on the car worked, it had been restored 12 years earlier, and it was cool looking. I had seen another car, a 59 Buick I think, with the Coy 5 spoke wheels and could invision what the fins would look like with the same wheels. I do not baby the car because it is rare. I bought it to drive and we pile into it all the time and go out cruising.

I really liked the looks of the Duster on your site. Is it yours? Would like to see some more pictures.
