Update on my GTS conv lower windshield molding. Found a stainless at the spring fling swap meet, trimmed an inch off each end, excessively polished it and installed it with plenty of butyl. Worked out great and much cheaper than $275.00 for the acrylic version. Thanks for everyone's input.

Wow! I've must have owned seven or eight 67 - 69 darts (2 convs) and never new that or had a reason to, I guess. The original windshield was destroyed in transit from mich to ca in 81 and the repair shop must have destroyed the plastic one. I didn't think much about it then. I was just excited...

That was a fun event and your video was great! My orange GTS conv "crawled out of the woodwork" to make it in the video. It's missing the lower windshield molding and was curious if anyone had one. I'll also post a wanted ad for it. Met some great folks there.

An update for those interested: I was able to remove the steering gear from the top side. Raised the left side of the engine one inch, removed the front header pipe, removed the remaining header bolts and had just enough clearance to get it out. Didn't have to remove the header, starter, center...

Ref 68 GTS: I'll ask the off the wall question: Has anyone pulled a steering gear from the front side. I am not thrilled with dropping the starter, center link, clutch pivot arm or header. My hooker header has a slip tube for the front pipe and it will come out if I raise the block. I'm...

Sorry for late post. I haven't been on the site in awhile. I actually took it to a friend, who weld repaired it and also machined it to the correct dia. Just got lucky.

Update: I was able to remove the damaged housing head while on the vehicle. Does anyone have one? It holds the input shaft bearing and oil seal. See attached pic. Thanks in advance, Steve

Ref 68 gts: When I removed the leaky input shaft seal I damaged the housing that holds the first bearing. First question: if I removed the slotted cyl but that holds the housing in place, will this allow me to remove just the housing head without the whole assy coming out or will springs...
