I actually am looking for the internals from a good tranny. I have an A body 30 spline output trans but it is beat needs pretty much everything. It has the 2.47 close ratio gear set but it needs all the gears.
Can I use the slant 6 / 318 gear set with the 3.09 1st gear behind my built 340 stroker motor?
I want the low 1st gear to offset a 3.23 rear axle ratio. Tranny guy was questioning if the gears were as strong as the 2.66 or 2.47 gear sets. Will they hold up?
I have a soft spot for Dodge vans. We sold a ton of them at the dealership and some of them were really nice. Big comfy leather seats wood trim everywhere.
You really should get your hands on the factory service manual. The trans section will take you through the whole thing. It is a very simple and durable trans.
The linkage on the torque flight is actually called throttle pressure. It increases line pressure as you open the throttle. It is important for durability of the trans. If you have the linkage hang up at full pressure it will shift very hard into drive and reverse. The upshifts will be late and...
I have seen the water pump impeller loose on the shaft on a 4.7. It would make heat and stay cool at an idle but as soon as you started to drive it would get hot.
The new gears and crush collar are a different style. The old crush sleeve actually was between the bearings. The new 1/2" collar just sits on the step in the stem.
The push button systems are pretty smart with rolling codes ect. The guys stealing them are probably showing up with preprogrammed modules and swapping them in. Or they are stealing the keys idk. They are not smash and grab amateur thugs
