For whatever reason that trick didn't work... The seal was just falling apart and wasn't staying together enough to push it through. I ended up having to pull the timing chain and the crank.

What are the torque specs for where the pushrods bolt to the crank? I got 45 lb feet but when I torque them down I can't turn the motor over by hand anymore where as I could before I pulled the crank. I lubed all the bearings when I put it back together.

To pull the crank shaft sprocket?

Maybe I am stupid lol but I can't figure out how to pull my timing chain on my 318.

I was trying not to remove the timing chain and all but that seems to be the way I am going to have to do it.

One more question for anybody still reading this lol. The base plate reads 12R 4506 any idea what that means?

The only thing I am having trouble with is what I presume is the build date 993. I can't figure out exactly what that means, all the other build dates seem to be letters and numbers.

Yea, I got on Ebay and looked at these carbs. Thanks for the help guys I would have never known lol. This helps me out big time becuase my budget for this rebuild wasn't very big and this will expand it enough for a cam LOL.

I tried that trick, but tapping on the one side of the seal I can't get the other one to slide up. Any ideas there?

Well if one of you are interested in it let me know lol. I probably need a smaller carb to go on my generally stock 318 lol
