Thanks. My original which has 2 studs measures 3 1/4”. The new one is 3 1/2”. Going to modify the crossmember for exhaust, so I might as well modify it for a readily available mount as well.

It’s a cheap one from O’Reilly. Number on part matches what it’s supposed to be. (B2272) Application according to their website is correct, (it covers about every a,b,c,e body from 63-72). I ordered it for my make model engine. I have to be missing something, problem is, the pic you took shows...

Its none of that, just the rubber mount too tall. The new one made it worse. Thanks for the help and pics.

Thank you thank you thank you! That pretty much answers it. Whether it’s the correct mount or not doesn’t matter, something isn’t right with it. Thanks for not letting me do something stupid and start cutting and welding. I knew in my heart it shouldn’t have been an issue.

Thanks for looking! I think thats what i need to hear. It's definitely seated. I just pulled the slant so I can only assume it is correct and pretty sure its original. Starting to think maybe it is swelled and the slant tailshaft was probably pushed up against. I guess my next step is to get a...

So an inch was a bit of an exaggeration, but it’s a hole off. There is a piece of rubber above that would allow it to line up but still closer than I thought it should be. No oddball stuff. Maybe the rubber mount is swelled up? Best I can do for pics right now
