sticky steering

The valve body on top of the steering box may need to be adjusted

Try this...

With the rear wheels chocked and the front wheels suspended off the floor, (use two jackstands, please) center the steering best possible. With the fornt wheels straight ahead, start the engine and observe the wheels. If they move to the right or left, then the valve body will need to be adjusted. Find a factory service manual because the adjustment is a little tricky. I've had to adjust the valve body on the new boxes I put on a couple of customer cars. The rebuilders don't always get it right.
