That looks similar to the backing plate for a side reflector. I have a 69 Fastback, and while not exact, it does look close.

I'm not sure what year your car is, but it might be something like that.

In my haste to post this, I neglected to mention that the project is a 71 Dart. My side marker lights are recessed and shaped differently than this gasket. It did have 72 fenders on it though, so it might be a carryover from there.
