Finally got to installing a pair of cut outs and decided this time I'm goin' electric. I ordered the package deal from Summit.
TIG'd em right where they should be and fired it up. Sounded awesome. Then, I hit the switch to close 'em up and ........they leak.

Lots of guys have told me they would, and lots have them with no issues. I don't know who makes them for Summit, but it might be Quick Time.
They're goin back Monday.

Anybody know of a GOOD manufacturer? I know someone has to make a quality electric cut out.

If you want good ones then get the noweeds ones or if your on a budget get the kirk racing ones.

They are sweet and use a linear actuator to open/close vs the gear driven unit.

The linear actuators have greater push and pull force and do a great job of sealing.

Kirk racing does not have pictures on their website but their product is built the same as the noweeds only they have one butterfly instead of two.

That means at full open with kirk racing diverters you will still have some exhaust going through the mufflers.......not enough to notice the difference.

Here is a video of the Kirk racing products diverters.

Goo luck.....they rock!

I was looking for you moparman because I remember you had the Noweed cut outs.........and ......... you beat me to it!LOL

I remember the vid also you posted awhile back.

I had the Quicktime cutout on my Dodge ram. The motor went out so I had to buy a new motor, and it always leaked and basically gave me trouble. Quicktime sucks!!

Hey Mullinax....I have the cheaper Kirk racing products ones but some friends of mine have the noweeds...they have two cars and have them on both.

So far I have 800 miles on mine and they work awesome....I use them every time I drive and love the tuneability.....a little loud...or wide open.

The super bee in the video has had them on for 3 years and he also has had no problems with his.

I guess I'm just lucky, I've installed (3) sets of QTP's, including the set on my fish that I've been running for 2 years without any leakage problems.Maybe you don't have them "timed" properly(one is closing before the other & you're not allowing enough time for the second to seal all the way)

They're timed ok. You can actually see a very small gap on one side of the butterfly valve. You can force it closed with finger pressure, but it flexes back open. Either not perfectly flat or the housings aren't.

Dougs look really nice....Race Ready does too.

Not sure yet.....

thats what always scared me about those things.. i say screw the electric crap. if you really want cut outs just get ones that wing nut on with a gasket. thats what i'm running and have no leaks. really been thinking of pulling them off since the car has always run the same with them open or going through my 3" X-piped system.

i got a set from Jegs. Put them on my orignal bolt up cut outs. Haven't had
any leaks. When I first put them on I didn't hold the button long enough to
close them. Now i just hold it for just a second or two to make sure.
They don't leak when closed. They were the cheaper ones. Think I payed
about $259.00 for the complete set, with the wires and switch.
They work for me!

LOL..$800 for a set of cutouts you've got to be kidding me:toothy10::toothy10::toothy10:
