FYI: Found this not on Dr. Mopars Website:

"Attention: We will be closing out and crushing our inventory September 2010, If you need any parts be sure to e-mail us soon. Thanks to all our loyal customers who have supported us for the last 15 years and who helped keep the Mopar hobby alive! It's been a great ride. "

Nobody is that stupid, wonder if its just to scare people into buying up some of there inventory???

Texas laws have changed on Salvage vehicles. They go into effect this September.

So then if they really want to keep the hobby alive, they'll sell parts at scrap rate since its just going to be crushed anyway?

They've got a plum crazy 70 dart that looks restorable for crying out loud.

Good luck with that. I have been down this road with salvage yards before, a couple times.
I needed a roof rail trim piece off a 57 Plymouth (1985), and they wanted $100 each, for them. They were getting ready to smash them all and I made them an offer of $50 and they said they would rather smash them.

There are people on this planet that would be better used as fertilizer.

ya I emailed him 2 months ago never got an email back......

Funny you say that... about three months ago I emailed them for some parts. I had specific parts listed that I wanted from a few of their parts cars listed, never got a response.. emailed them one more time, got no response.

Anyone in the area that could run over there and see what is going on? Maybe buy some parts.

Thanks

I would at least sell the lot to a company like stevens or private yard, you only get 250-300 a crushed car if that, seems like they could make more than that

This reminds me of one of those ads where they guys wants $900 for a $300 car or else he'll scrap it because it's not worth his time.

If they cared about the hobby they would give the cars away to enthusiasts, not crush them.
I call either BS or greed.

What an oxymoron sentence to say thanks to all who supported the mopar hobby and then say they are going to crush their inventory.

Do they take their Wives out on their 20'th anniversary to dinner, tell them they love them, then beat their head in with a stick?

I heard NOTHING is priced to move. Parts or whole cars.

It is the real deal they are closing the doors. I emailed them today and the actually responded in one hour. Below is the 2 emails. first one is to them and second is their response. This isn't going to be good for our hobby.

I have seen all over the web that you are closing your doors and crushing all your cars in September. They are saying it is because Texas salvage laws have changed. I am in Oklahoma and afraid of what Texas does Oklahoma will do. Would you be willing to share with me what Texas has done to make you to have to close the doors?

Thanks,
Bill

They are making it to where you will have to pay and have insurance to get your salvage license, also there is new regulations the EPA wants concrete drainage retainers built around the perimeter where cars are sitting.
