just had it delivered this morning. got it and the 727 attached to it delivered for $150. seemed like a good deal to me.
it will eventually end up in my 73 duster.
im going to do a mild build on it, nothing too crazy, shooting for 450hp or so.
anyway i know how everyone here likes to see pics so i thought i'd show off my new engine

Cool deal... I love 383's....

Great choice!!
383's are so underrated!! The high winding big block!!

Thicker main webs than a 440 as well for extra strength:snakeman:

so i got part of it torn down last night.
the bad, it's been sitting a long time, theres quite a bit of rust on the valves. but the heads themselves are ok, just need new valves, a valve job and cleaned.
the cylinders look good. very very minor surface rust, no pitting or scoring. not sure if its original pistons or not. they are flat top but set down in the hole quite a bit. havent pulled them or the crank yet.
but it's got a forged crank and 906 heads. it was cool to find that.
more updates as i make progress.
