Anyone ever driven a liberty modified 4 speed on the street? I have one but am thinking that I would like a standard fully synchro'd instead (from what I have read so far) Depending on consensus I may part with it.
Thanks

it depends on how it was set up. if it is full race, will not be fun. i dove in my friends car and he wishes he set up differently.

There a little bit of a ***** but it can be done. when your upshifting you gotta rip em into gear fast, even when your driving slow. you can downshift them but it takes some finesse. i think the biggest pain in the *** is getting back into first gear. i had my 3rd & 4th faceplated this time round, but haven't had it back in the car yet. i've got two of them, the one i was having trouble keeping in gear. i've figured out its just wore out and needs a fresh proshift. they make some ugly sounds too, but they are damn fun to drive!!!

yours still looks decent, she should be good for a little while.

I knew you were around here somewhere and would chime in. I know you have heard it a few times but I am gonna say it again, bitchin car!

I ran one in the 80's in my Chevy truck and it was just like Hemi GTS said.

It was cool for a while but became annoying within a month. I swapped in a "normal" 833 and was much better for street use.

If you are ever interested in selling it let me know. I have been thinking of converting my Valiant drag car back to a manual.
