Hey all, I just got my Duster Legal with getting the lights fixed all around. When testing and adjusting headlights last night while accellerating the motor acted like it was being starved of fuel (hesitation, sputtering, Power Loss). I have a 360 with a eddy 1406 600cfm and a Carter Mech Muscle car pump! I have a 16 gallon fuel cell and my fuel line is routed away from the header. This is not the first time it has happened. After it stalls It starts back up afetr a couple of cranks with full choke! My first thought was vapor lock. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Brian Hall

Got foam in the cell? Might be decomposing.

Yes I do Purple! But I also have a clear fram fuel filter and it is clean (not all black and gunky like it was with the stock tank).
Would I see the foam in the filter if it was decomposing?

Thanks

I would think you would but if there is big enough pieces could just be plugging the pickup fittings.

What kind of fuel pressure you running? I would check your float level.

I will check, I just thought this up. My lower radiator hose touches the inlet of the pump by an *** hair. Could this be causing Vapor lock, or is that not hot enough?

Thanks

I would say no. Have you had this car driving before or are you just now sorting it out?

I have driven it before. Just put in a Griffin RAD. Runs cooler... Never had this problem with the stock radiator, that is why I ask about the lower hose

Try putting a piece of cardboard or something in between the pump and hose and see if it makes a difference.
