Hows this.....it's your car and ultimately our opinions mean nothing.

What ever you want to do to your car is your business and none of us has teh right to tell you what or how to do it.

That being said you asked.......we told.

Flat black with wheel color that goes with the interior. Chrome wheel trim and center cone and lug nuts would not look bad.

Also don't forget to tint the windows.....really improves the look and the pleasure of driving.

Good luck.

I don't know why, but when I see an old rod in flat black with red wheels it makes me think it's wearing a pair of these

I was pointing out you were using the wrong terms. Question for you, if you can afford to paint it flat black, why can't you do it shiny? Cost is the same. That is unless you plan to just spray primer and leave it. Thats up to you, but primer holds moisture which will become rust. I am a fan of satin paints jobs. Deep blues, purples and even some greens look killer in satin, but are a hard to keep clean, from what I have need told.

well i did ask and u guys gave me what i asked for lol and yes i want a nice shinny paint job but it mite not look like it but it need some body work i just dont have the cash to do i will get the paint job one day gloss black will happen but im going flat to hide a lot of it tell i get the cash for the body work and to stop the rust mosnter i hate him lmao i all redy have from along time ago the flat black paint or i could paint it the same as my 64 4 door what u guy think bout that ?

btw if i come off being and a$$ im not trying to be im just being me lol

momoparman...HEY! that back rest is from a D-100 dash pad! What a cool way to use it....not very soft though...I'd imagine!

Aloha

Don't slam it on an s-10 frame just cause it makes it easier and gives you disc brakes..etc.

i literally only have a 1937 shell i was planning on slapping it on a 76 jeep frame just because i have it here and the square straightness of it. I think is a good simple base to start customizing for the aplication..

i guess i know this is a little off topic but what other option would i have in my opinion a solid frame that suits the body im putting on it can be custumized yeah safely as where if :kids: start buying tubbing and such and start making there own frame desing i donno whats safer or better....

i guess im planning to build this just because i see these things and hate to see them rot and go to waste i guess...

Theres alot of us that can relate to the original rat rodders. My Duster for instance is a "build as I drive it" sort of thing.Whenever my budget allows it,I get a part for it.Its not in flat black with the lower quarter rust holes because I like it that way,I hate it I cant wait to start on the body work and throw some nice shiny paint on it and it will look like a diffent car,but not having a garage I know it will pretty much sit until spring when I plan on starting the body work.Im not at all embarrased by the way it looks ,right now,I give a damn how it looks.I care more about how she runs and stops and handles.Once I get that taken care of,you bet she is going to be pretty.I have plans to give her a makeover this summer

You are correct and you are correct!

It is very comfortable to sit in as long as you are not moving.

Once you start driving your back and a$$ take a beating....not so cool.

I am very close to taking out the seating and starting over so I can stand up straight after driving it. I am still in pain from the 80 mile drive I took in it 3 weeks ago.........meds please.

If I was going to do a cheap paint on the 65 wagon. If you are going to spray bomb it then spray it with semi-flat or gloss black...it'll protect the vechicle better and after a while it will look flat anyway. If the present paint job is okay...it'll probably be better than a rattle can paint job. The wheels I do something besides red...either black or somthing that matches the interior. Run some dog dish. A crappy looking car looks like a crappy looking old car. If you must paint the chrome....I really wouldn't paint the stainless....a little polishing goes a long way. You could paint the chrome with a silver or chrome paint and it won't look 'murdered' out as some gansta wannabes would call it.
Old cars need to look classy or the look crappy. :)
