My 63 Valiant slant six has been running "ragged" to put it mildly. Saturday at a local NJ show, a Mopar guy completely had the car diagnosed, adjusted and running properly for the first time in six years!!! He did this in about 30 minutes. No JOKE! This after having spent close to $600 on brand new replacement parts. The cost to me: A chocolate shake! Mopar guys are great. The guy that arranged this has gotten a s--t load of free parts for his Mopar as a thank you. (the mechanic didn't want anything!!)
 
That's the beauty of this site & others--- good deeds/people still are around--- it's just that the negative is hi-lighted in the news & seems to be the headlines. Thanks for sharing a positive event. Lawrence
 
i need him to come and fix my slant..i have it really close but me being a mechanic makes me think its "not" perfect...

Basically he redid everything my mechanic did. This included setting the distributor correctly with both adjustments, re-setting the points, finding a carb crack and an exhaust leak. All of this by "ear"! When I drove the car home it ran like new. The simple things that modern mechanics use a computer for and can't get it right w/o the computer.
