I need help concerning torque Converter
If it's for a 360 it will have a piece of steel approx. 1/2" wide by 1-1/2" long welded to the front side (engine side) right between 2 of the flexplate bolts. That's what balances a externally balanced 360. You can carefully grind the welds with a die grinder and take the weight off. Grind the welds smooth afterwards too. The 318 converter doesn't have a weight welded in between the flex plate bolt holes so if there is no weight welded to the front side of the converter it's a 318 converter.
BTW: There are some thin weights welded to the outer perimeter of the converter. Don't mess with them. They are to balance the converter itself.
