Just imagine the exhaust gases trying to make that sharp turn(actually two sharp turns)then visualize how the gases would flow through the X so each pulse is actually traveling down both right and left exhaust tubes after the X it's almost like having a 5" exhaust.(In theory).:-D
The gases do not make turns in a H pipe system. The idea is pressure balanceing, not gas flow at the H pipe. While gas's is pulseing back and forth in the H pipe, it isn't the flow there after in this design, just a pressure balance.
Also, the 5 inch exhaust is not exaclty on target ethier.
