Anyone have a clue what this mini-starter is off of ??? I pulled this 2 years ago off something when I worked at a scrap yard, most parts I marked, this one I didn't for some reason, looks like a NAPA remanned.. The NAPA part number has worn off the sticker.. It kinda looks like a mopar starter, but I'm not sure... Thanks for any help...

Its a chrysler starter for sure. It will fit BB or SB unless it came off a Jeep.

Thats what I'm hopein'... I've been looking for a mini-starter for my 383.. Didn't even think to look in my own parts pile, when I worked at the scrap yard I pulled any newly put on parts that I had time to pull before thay hit the crusher..

I did have a '99 jeep with a 4.0 two years ago, so I just looked on ebay, this is a 4.0 jeep starter...

Magnum motor Jeeps have the starter on the passenger side instead of the driver side which is why I brought it up. They dont swap, I tried.

These are the mopar mini-starters that I've been watching on ebay... To me it looks just like the one I found in my building...

I just crossed this bridge yesterday. The starter in my 71 Dart with a 318 went out yesterday. So I crawl under and start taking out the starter and I say to myself. Dang that starter is oftly light. So I pull it out take it to the closest parts store and tell them what I need and they pull out a big ole honking starter. Dang that aint it. I knew what they pulled out would work however, I just didn't want to lift and fit that big thing back in. So I head down to a company that rebuilds starters, alternators etc. I put the starter on the counter. He walks back picks up a rebuilt one comes back out and puts it on the table. I say that was fast and I didn't even tell you what it was going on. He said I will tell you what you are putting it on. He told me it goes on a 98 to 2005 Dodge Ram with a 318. I told him close, a 71 Dart with a 318. He said that didn't suprise him as this starter is liked by guys with higher compression motors They like this starter because it has a much higer torque, spins faster and is a whole bunch smaller. I said great, thanked him and went home and put it in.

Definately a mopar starter I think around 90 they started using that style which is a great starter as far I know and have tested it will fit sb and bb I took a 318 starter and put it on a 383 car.

A Jeep starter would be the mirror image of that one since they're located on the passenger side.
