A little background for you... I'm a freshman at the University of Kansas this year. I moved into the dorms mid August. Since then I've hung a few things on my wall, (pink floyd poster, swimsuit calender, and periodic table of elements (I'm studying chemistry)).

My question for you is, what else should I hang on my wall?

Getting some car related items up would be awesome. The only stipulation is that I want to spend no money if possible (college kid, remember? ;) I've got no money!)

Thanks for your input,
Sinister.

If you got the recent summit catolog theres a nice barracuda fold out in the center! You might also be able to use the school printers to print out pictures of cars for free. You could also take your hot rod magazines or w/e and hang those pictures up, they wont be free per-say but if you get them already its not another dollar invested. Good luck with your dorm life, I know some dorms are fun as heck while others are like prison.

Actually printing costs... I do not have Hot Rod mag, but I do get Mopar Muscle... Not sure if I would want to tear the centerfold out though and scanning/printing just doesn't have the quality! Haha

Kind of wish I had some decent looking air cleaner lids or something like that. Would love to put parts up but they would need to be low profile and not more than a couple pounds.

Yup costs money! At my school we had to load money onto a card. I think it was around 15 cents a page!

Everything costs money anymore lol. I don't remember the price per page but it's definitely not free!

Perhaps a hanging mobile/windchime made with a bunch of doll heads. That would serve well as a focal point. :evil2:

Also, research the rules and regulations. During my military days, I had a calendar of extremely-friendly-looking ladies that would normally be prohibited. A few carefully placed bits of black electrical tape made it acceptable according to the published rules.

I had an old spoke hubcap hanging on the wall at one point. If you run a set of the chasing christmas lights behind it it makes for a neat light too. Run them in a spiral and it will appear to turn after enough beer. Old hubcaps are cheep at yard sales and swap mets. And same goes for the lights.

Loose the swimsuit posters, unless you plan on never having a date back to your dorm room.
I got some really cool posters by writing different manufacturing companies for there advertising posters. bf goodrich alpine etc.

Sometimes, places like NAPA,Checkers have really cool car calenders sometimes for $2.Check the dollar stores as they have cool calenders and stuff to hang up on the wall.Go to places like Goodwill, etc and look for some racing baseball caps and t-shirts(like NHRA,shirts and hats that say Snap-On,Craftsman,etc)You can also buy some Hot Wheels to hang on the wall or put on your shelves, they are only $1 each, lol

As far as a rule against the calendar goes, it's the "Women of KU" calendar that was published by the school so I would think it's not against the rules.

Get rid of it!? But it's signed by 4 of the girls! hahaha. I do plan on taking it down when I have certain company over. It's just 1 push pin in a cork board.

I never really considered contacting companies for advertisements... I might have to give that a try.

Some awesome ideas guys. I think I might have a decent set of 60's hubcaps in my hometown. I'll have to look this weekend.

Go down to the local Mopar store and ask them if they have any outdated promotional material you could have. I did that MANY years ago and got a nice checkered banner that said Plymouth on it and some plastic Magnum 500 wheel hangings. They just had them sitting in a store room and gave them to me when I told them I was wanting to hang them in my dorm room. I also got a banner form the Goodrich store that I hung across my window.

Since your football team sucks I would suggest putting up a huge NEBRASKA banner.

That way the ladies will see that you support a winner...:-D

Go Big Red!

Mop

My daughter just enrolled at Oklahoma University, Maybe a poster of the SOONERS. LOL
How about some good Mopar cars.

Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk, Sinister! My daughter went to KU on a full-ride softball scholarship a few years ago. Enjoy your time there...especially basketball season.

This just reminded me.. I think I have a picture that was made on some kind of a cardboard back. It's of a '70 blue swinger with snorkels.

So far it has been a blast. I can't wait for basketball season though!

Lose the swimsuit posters my ***. Are you gay? You want any dates to think you are? Most any red blooded American male has titty posters somewhere. Girls know that. they ain't styoopid. Don't let other people decide what you want. Some girl doesn't like a poster then maybe she needs to hit the bricks anyway.

A second vote for a big Huskers banner!

Might visit the local dragstrip or tracks and see if they have anything.

May consider this as well. It'd be freaking awesome if the Mopar dealer in town had anything vintage-ish but I kind of doubt they will. Dragstip is about an hour drive but may go there if I can't find anything else.

How about a hand written note by the microwave: "Your mom doesn't live here, clean up you own mess!" :thebirdm:

Hang it right beside the "titty poster".:snakeman:
