Bolt on frame connectors 63-76 A-Bodies

-
I see most of you are welding these on. If you have the ability to weld, why don't you just fab your own for less than half the price?!

Here are pictures of the door thesholds I purchased from Mister Twister.

I suggest weld in the frame connectors, provides better strength and do you really want to drill into your frame. The frame is what supports the whole structural integrity of the car, so why breach it with holes.

Any info on frame connectors on convertibles? Doing some reading and see where torque boxes are used...? Will the bolt on type work on a 69 Dart vert?

Torque boxes are factory on almost all high performance Mopars but some style of frame connectors is a definite plus on any vehicle. Yes the welded to the floorpan are best but the weld to frame and bolt-ons also make a big difference. On my vehicle it stiffened and smoothed out the ride, cornering is better and alot of chassis noise is eliminated.

I bought these off Ebay for $90 and had my local muffler shop weld them on with the car on a drive-on lift. Don't use jackstands!!!

Yes they work fine in convertibles, hope this helps Don

does the fuel line need to be moved to fit frame ties? mine is in good condition and id rather not mess with it if i dont have to

No,
Only if you cut the floor pans and weld them into it would the fuel line possibly need to be moved. All the other bolt on and weld style ones go under the fuel line, brake line and E-brake cable.

No the fuel line can stay in place with these!! Looking at the pic in this thread, you can see the fuel line passing through the original hole. 8)
