Best Two Barrel Carburetor for a 318?

I have dealt with NUMEROUS factory holley 2 barrel issues when i was in the field ... 2 barrel carters in my opinon were better ... Chrysler stalling issues were due to intake ice up , bad ignition systems .... I would agree to go with a 4 barrel ... If money is an issue ... try and locate a Dodge Van .... Some were built with a 4 barrel Rochester Quadrajet that worked EXCELLENT ... elec choke and everything.

I had several of these when they were new. No icing issues, the accelerator pumps sucked and were poorly designed. When you hit the throttle, due to lack of gas from the pump, you would get a back fire then a stall. There were lawsuits involved, it was a big deal.

But I also agree with you that the electronic ignition was part of the problem, as the electronics had just not evolved far enough at the time to be reliable.
