rumblefish question for you?

I don't remember what I suggested before. However, lets start this a new.

I myself, if I was working up a 318 would start with a fresh torque plated bore & honed block and run the flat top KB hyper-U pistons. Along with the head gasket diamentions in mind (.040 approx.), shoot for a 65 cc head chamber with 360 valves @ 1.88/1.60 in a pocket ported head gasket matched to RPM intake manifold.

The cam I'd look at would be a Comp Cam XE262H or similar spec'd cam.
This cam creates alot of torque and is very useful with a Hwy. gear axle ratio.
I beileve this cam will create 350 HP and about 390 Lbs. of torque.

If your running a higher gear axle ratio, (small tire 3.21's - 3.55 - bigger tire & 3.91) you can step up to a 340 cam.

If you have a 4.10/4.30 axle, you could go to a XE274H which works in a 1800- 6000 rpm range. I'd run a 255/60/15 out back and a 2500 stall converter with those gears and cam.
