Here's where the shipping order number is stamped on the radiator core support. On '65 and '66 models, the first two number are the year and plant....then the shipping order number. It will match the fender tag if they're from the same car. As you can see, sometimes one of the stickers is attached over the top of the number.....or partially anyway.

I had the same problem trying to register my 65 valiant in Ct went to the DMV in Old Saybrook first.The inspector didn't have a clue he said the Vin should be on the dash.He told me a had to take it to Wethersfield I took it to the office in Hamden & it went right thru inspector didn't blink an eye.
