67 Dart and more KC Craigslist

I went and looked at the car today and took some better pictures. Here is a link to my photobucket account.

It's a pretty solid car and would be a good start for any project. The metal patches were stitched on pretty good, but not ground down. There is only a small amount of rust on the front inner fenders and the right rear leaf spring area was a little soft. The rest of the frame, floor pans and trunk were very solid.

The story on the 383 was a little sketchy. Said that it was rebuilt and fired, but had a knocking noise. Pulled the plugs and found a broken one and the porcelien had fallen into the cyl. He pulled the heads and had them gone through including hardened seats and 2 new valves. He also had the crank turned 10/10?!? I'm not sure why. Torker II intake was painted rattled can silver and Edelbrock 750 appeared to be low hours.

The narrowed rear end is an A body 8 3/4 that looked pretty hacked. The axles were redrilled from SBP to LBP and looked pretty shady also. I saw a nut welded onto the back of one the studs?!?

The transmission is untested out of a motorhome, and the radiator is out of a 63 big block car.

All in all, I would say that this is a good starting point for a big block Dart project, or sell the big block parts and use the money to finish the body work. I'm gonna sleep on it for the night and talk to him in the morning. He said that I was the 12th person that had came to look at it, so I don't feel too bad. That means 11 other people didn't put down their money either. He also told me that he has a guy who does big money restorations coming by to look at it tonight...
