Got this tonight, I thought it was pretty cool and in really really nice shape. It even has the name stamped in the metal top. I tried googling, but found nothing. You cant see it in the pics, but the phone # is only 4 digits, so it is old, just dont know how old. Anyone got any info??

That's an old soda bottle when it was in vogue to have soda water in your drink.
I estimate it is from the turn of the century, 1890's to 1910 is my guess.
Try phoning the number on the bottle!
Nice score!

Time to clean your bong Steve!LOL

Heeeyyyyyy now ya got me thinkin....

1baddodge71, yeah its a seltzer bottle, dont know how it works exactly, but the trigger works. I didnt want to pull the top off in case I buggered it up. Any ideas how it works??

GreenHornet must come from the same era as I did because my dad used to buy or rent a case of those bottles of Seltzer or soda water, whatever you would like to call it, monthly from the soda distributor for the family to make our own soda using syrups. My favorite was some milk, Fox's chocolate syrup and the seltzer for a genuine NY egg cream, it was the pressure from the Seltzer bottle which made it come out perfect :)

I have a house that was built in 1907 and when excavating for the new garage we found a lead glass beer/pop bottle from the 1890-1910 era. The seam of the bottle is along the circumference just before the neck whereas newer bottles have a vertical seam going from bottom to top.

what is on the bottom of it? i am into old bottles. i have about 600 or so. also look around the bottom edge for small numbers or letters. many manufactures have small codes or dates on the glass for production.

I figured it was probably from the 20's or 30's, the seam runs top to bottom, and on the very bottom of it is a symbol that has an oval shape going up down and then side to side it has arrows. On the left side of the symbol, it looks like "18" on the right it looks like "b" in in the middle of the oval it looks like the number 1. I cant see how the top comes off, how can I clean it??
Thanks for the input!!

Thanks Dreno, I read thru how to clean it, but I think I will leave it as is. They say to use pliers and that quite often the glass tube on the inside gets broken when you pull the top off. I think I will leave it as is!!

I think it's pretty neat so i thought i would investigate a little.Tried to find some history on it but as usual ya need to be a member of some site to get info. 8)

don't take it apart. if you clean it at all use mild dish soap only on the outside. that is about all it needs. i have many books, but it would take some time to find info on it. very neat piece though....

I'm not a collector, but if I see a cool bottle I'll save it.. Check out this little Lysol bottle... I've never tried to date it, it had a screw on cap not a cork.. Guessing by it's size, I'd say it's depression or war time era because of it's size...

I have a Listerine bottle that has almost the same symbol on the bottom, but it has a 7 on the left and a 6 on the right. Also has 'Duraglas' in script on the back near the bottom. Front has 'Listerine' at the top and 'Lambert Pharmacal Co.' along the bottom. I'm guessing the word pharmacal hasn't been used for a while lol.

edit-here's the symbol on the bottom:
