My winter project. 1974 W100 Utiline

Well I picked this truck up this spring running for $500 and it's finally time to tear into it. My wife has taken over half of the garage with her mini van for the winter and space is tight so I will be working on this truck one section at a time (Bed, Cab and front clip). Gotta love trucks with frames.

My plans are for a reliable, cheap 4X4 truck that will see the occasional mountain road. Overall the truck is very solid other than two small rust spots in the passenger door and quarter. My plans are to strip the body down and pound out any dents and shoot a base clear in dark blue metallic. The body will not be perfect, because the bed is pretty hammered on this thing from all of the years of farm use and I am sure that I will put some scratches and dings in it anyway.

It is getting a 3" body lift as well as 3" suspension lift. 35" tires should be perfect. The truck came from the factory with the Dana 44 up front, 8 3/4 in the rear, Divorced NP205 transfer case and 4 speed. Should be fun.

The tired 318 is coming out and is getting the Magnum headed 318 from my dart. It is a torquey little motor and should be perfect for the build.

I will be tracking every cent that I put into this truck and will see how cheap I can build it.
