I thought the last numbers of the VIN were the production numbers? The number Leanna sent me was the VIN number, the numbers were the same length with a letter B in it, starting 8Bxxxxxx. Thats how the numbers on my block start out.

1968 body numbers match the VON - Vehicle Order Number, it also appears on the fender tag & broadcast sheet.

1968 model year engines (if stamped) have the partial VIN.
