swinger resto project hits high gear.....

well i first started out with a basic 74 swinger but always loved that 71 look. i mean who doesn't right? anyways, after i got mine home i noticed it had some typical cancer issues of north eastern autos.... rusted out front and rear frame rails, some soft spots in the floor and 1 bad inner fender well. well i decided anything worth doing is worth doing my way.... anyways, i installed the leaf spring relocation kit and that made room for bigger rubber and at the same time cleaned up the rear frame rail issues, the front was a little more involved so i found a donor front clip and just swapped it out completely, (yeah that was scary) well it's come time to turn my attention to the body, so about 3 weeks ago i started the transformation of the front and rear body and removed the vinyl top and started to prep the body for paint. the quarters are actually really good which is weird cause the frame rails weren't that nice but the car did sit in a barn for about 6 years prior to me getting it so go figure... anyways, things are moving along pretty good and we'll see what happens from here. i know that the dash, firewall and doors aren't 71 but it doesn't really bother me because i'm not going for concourse restoration here, i'm going for cut it up make it the way that i want it and beat the crap out of it.... and cruise it with the wife and dog.... i hope to be done with it by janurary and then next winter i'll work on the motor.... until then here is where i've been and where i'm at...
