Rubber fuel line deteriorating? If it's getting trash in it, that's not the carbs issue.

One thing I have noticed is the new style fuel is not kind to the o-ring on needle & seat assemblies.

Check that the float isn't full of fuel, causing it to sink.

Unless there are two of them, Carter/ede carbs are for taxi cabs... :)

I am by no means an expert in this field, but, I totally agree with checking your fuel hoses. I've been noticing, for a few years now, rubber fuel line deteriation. I don't know if the material in the hose is different or the fuel is that much more aggresive. Either way, it can cause you problems.
