Grizzly vs Harley

how the hell do ya hit something like THAT and not know what ya hit? And keep driving?

Narrow, windy, mountainous, forested stretch of two lane highway that winds along a river. It was early morning, and dark. He's probably used to hitting deer along there fairly frequently, and thought it was probably that. The bears run on all fours, are dark, and are actually much harder to see than a deer.

I grew up near there, and have had bears run out into the highway several times. They seem to always run away from the traffic, down the road, instead of getting off the road. You don't get to see the reflectiveness of their eyes, like you would with a deer.

He probably hit it with a brushguard and deflected it off the road, and didn't think much of it until he started overheating.
