4.7L bellhousing bolt pattern

Well, it ain't. When I worked for the local Chrysler dealer, that was the number one complaint. Poor fuel mileage. There were also several TSBs issued, so, Chrysler was aware of the problem. ....and to the OP, I never said the 4.7 wasn't a good engine. They are ok. It's just that a properly prepared small block will get better mileage. What I'm interested in is how you're gonna get the computer system for the 4.7 to work with a 904. heck, I'd use the A500 even with the floorpan mods required. Overdrive would be cool.

Hum... That's odd Rob as I have a 2002 Dak with the 4.7 and it gets fantastic fuel mileage for a v8 truck. Never gets less than 16 mpg when I'm hammering on it and if I set the cruise at 65 down the hwy. it'll pull 21-23 mpg. Much better than my 93 Dak did with the 318. It never got better then 16 down the hwy. The 02 weighs a couple hundred lbs. more to boot.

As for the OP's question of are they the same bolt pattern, I'm not positive but I have heard they are. Is there any way you can take a picture of either the back of the engine or front of the trans. and post it? I think I could verify it from a picture.
