I don't want to sell her, but due to some finance issues and other, more pressing needs, I'm afraid I have to sell my 1972 D100. With a 225/slant-6, manual steering and brakes, and "three on the tree", what do you all think a good asking price is? I have put alot of elbow grease into cleaning her up. Replaced the rear tires with 32in BFG's, replaced the rear bumper with a chrome one, covered the seat, replaced the rusted tail pipe, and replaced many interior pieces. Trucks like these cant be found in my home state of Ohio, having rusted away long ago. You can see all I've done in the year I have had her in the 7 page thread, linked below. The bed box and headlight "brows" will not go with the truck.

Well market is soft. Not a good time for a seller,so I wish you the best of luck. I really like that p/u and would pay up to $5 grand here in Canada. But in the US Im thinking $2500.

Can we play "The price is right" now?

Depending on your time frame you can always start high and work your way down $500.00 at a time till the phone starts ringing.

I'm thinking $2500 as a starting point, but didn't want to look foolish in what I might ask for it. Leaning more towards selling it each day but want it to go to a good home.

Hey, does that truck have the 8n 3/4 rear end, If so it may have 391s or 355s in it. It my even have the 489 case being its a 72.And if it has a sure grip the third could worth around $500 by it self. If so you may want to hang on to those and through in a peg leg with high gears. just a thought...

Honestly, probably $1500 if you're lucky.

You have to look at the pro's and con's. The pro is that it looks to be in great shape and is a desireable year with the best (IMO) truck grille Dodge had in the 70's.

The con's are the fact that it's a slant 6, 3 on the tree and a long bed. Guy's want V8's, anything other than 3 on the trees and short beds are just worth more. Not knockin your truck at all but I searched for over a year and long beds around here that are put up for over $2500 do not sell. I'd put it at $2500 and see what offers you get.

Then again I can only speak about what I've searched for in CA.

your local craigslist is also free-- put it on for $$$$ & see what the response is, also this site has great sales potential-- post it for sale & see what happens-- It looks nice -- Good luck with the sale, Lawrence

Here in Utah I would say $2,000 would be fair. I think the slant, 3 on the tree and manual steering/brakes is bringing down the price a little.

Nice looking truck, I've watched your thread since you got it. The economy is soft up here in Canada and where you are as well. Ad in that it is Christmas time, ya might want to wait a few months before you sell. I've been "looking" for a truck like yours, love it!!

Thanks to all who have responded. Looks like I will start at $2500 if I have to sell it. Hope I wont have to though.

Yep... Start at $2,500 and dont hesitate if someone offers you $2,000.
Unfortunately "elbow grease" doesnt have a price these days. It is what it is.
Best of luck on the sale.

Yup havta agree bout the price. Damn shame but the economy is what it is.

you'd get quite a bit more in PA for something straight and rust free. Craigslist, ebay, or MachoPowerWagon.com has truck classifieds

Hmmm... I've been thinking of getting rid of the RC for a 2wd. Everything I've done to the RC would bolt right in to that truck too....

Me?.....I'd ask $3995, for sure! I think the slant 6 (maybe not so much the 3-on-the-tree) is a PLUS, what with gas prices what they are! Look, I would say there's a LOT of people (myself included) who would love to have a dependable full-size truck that can haul stuff from Home Depot or take stuff to the dump once in a while and you just don't need a V-8 to do that! Add to that the fact that this truck DOESN'T ever need to be smog-checked?! It looks pretty damn nice, plus what the hell could you ever get from a little used car dealer for that price??

IMO, you can almost get $3995 for anything....it's definitely not outrageous, and you can go down from there if you really wanna move it.
