You might damage your trans if you pull the convertor out with the motor as it will rake the convertor snout past the front seal if not braced allowing the convertor to pull straight out. Pull them as a unit, its EZ: Just make sure you lower the boom pretty close to the lifting plate as youll need alot of lift to clear the pans over the fender or rad support. Make sure you have a very clean floor and a planned roll out area. Its scary up there when you are fighting to get the cherry picker to roll over crap on the floor. Rotate cherry picker wheels so they are parallel to your extraction path prior to loading it up, it makes it very easy to start the picker rolling in the right direction. Drain trans or invest 3 buck in a trans plug for the rear shaft seal (might get away with an asprin bottle) You'll dump mass amounts of ATF while you are tilting the motor skyward to clear the fan over the rad support while maneuvering the tailshaft while its still in the tunnel. A load leveler helps but makes the boom all that much more farther from the motor and you dont want to run out of lift at the last minute, been there. You dont have to pull the hood but it makes it alot easier. They came in from the bottom, if you wanted to drop the K and related suspension parts, you could hook the front end and hoist it over the sitting motor.Trans/K member. Someone makes a mounting jig for this as well as a K dolly so you can just roll it out.
