Edelbrock 600 4 barrel question

Silly question... the 2 screws on the front of the carb, for adjusting the air/fuel ratio maybe? can anyone give me a quick run-down of how they work and they best way to tune/adjust? thankS!

They are for setting the idle mix only. Cruise/power mixture is controlled by jets/metering rods.
