1969 Dart GT. Has been completely stripped and redone. No rust, all glass good, needs to be completed. Was appraised a little over 2 years ago for around $28k. Will dig up appraisal docs. Clear title. Was originally a /6. Now has a magnum based 408 stroker with EFI, A518 tranny built by Martin Saine. 8-3/4 sure-grip with 3:23 gears. 11.75 front disk, manual brakes, Firmfeel stage 3 power steering. LCA, UCA, and struts are all Firmfeel. 0.92 t-bars. Roll cage, sub-frame connectors. All glass good, dark tint in rear. Needs the speedo replaced (Auto Meter electric, failed after only 800 miles but over 2 years since purchase so no warranty), carpeting and center console. Needs the left dash vent hose run for the AC and also te lines from the firewall to the compressor, etc. Also needs the electronics completed for automatically shifting the OD and TC lock (have all parts). Nice on the highway, about 2000 RPM at 72 MPH in OD with the TC locked but will burn the tires off in all 3 gears. Still has a few loose ends to tie up but is at least 90% complete. Have extra parts that go with it. Located in Leominster, MA. Asking $7000.00
More pics to follow.

An aluminum panel was added between the pass compartment and trunk since the pics were taken. Can't get any new ones for a week or so anyway till the pile of snow is gone from in front of the garage. The shifter in the last couple of pics was used since its a rear cable unit. The other one was too close to the headers and kept melting the cable and with the A518 tranny its tight so I went with plan B.

So what's the deal with the trans? Does it run and drive? What's the big fuse block between the front seats? Was the car supposed to be red or did you just paint the engine bay and interior red on purpose? Sweet car and a good deal.

Runs and drives just fine. A518 uses signal from ECU to shift into OD and lock the TC. Since there is no MOPAR ECU a different method has to be used. I tried the pressure switch method that was on several of the sites but with a 2500 RPM stall TC I could never get the right combination of pressure switches to keep the TC from locking at the same time that OD engaged. So went with 2 of the electronic setups for a GM tranny but they need an analog pulse of 40 pulse per drive shaft revolution to work. The standard A58 tranny VSS outputs a digital in the range of 22000 pulses per drive shaft revolution. Found that the VSS for an early 90s Daytona will fit into the A518 tranny and is a 2 wire (analog) signal but it outputs a higher than 40 pulse per revolution signal. Dakota digital makes a step down or converter that will get itto the right pulse count. Have everything just haven't gotten around to doing anything with it. Engine bay and interior are chili pepper red (98/99 durango) and exterior is metallic bright white (on purpose). Easy wire after market wiring runs down the tranny tunnel to the rear. So does the positive wire from battery switch (in trunk) to starter solenoid. Thats the fuse panel and behind it are the relays for the tranny and the ECU for the EFI setup. Intent was to cover it all up with a console.

7K is an unbelievable value for this car. Think about a good deal on a 69 Dart from the northeast, likely with body issues that will cost at least a few thous to fix and you still would have the work ahead of you that his car has done. Good luck with the sale. If it does not move fast, it's a real barometer on how much our economy really sucks.

nice ride , on the rear did you just go with an offset shackle? or did you move the springs in ?

Thanks. Just used the offset shackles. It moved the springs in enough to use a 8 inch wheel with a 5 inch BS and still have plenty of room. Could actually have gone to a 5-1/2 inch BS with room to spare. I did roll the fender edge though just to be safe. Has almost an inch clearance but better safe than sorry.

thanx for the info , looks like youve put quite a lot into it , im sure it will sell soon @ what youve got it priced at . good luck with the sale . got another project lined up or just movin ' on ?

When I got this car back in 2000 it cost me more to ship it than what I paid for it! Here is what it looked like when I first got it. the paint looks good in the pics but it was done with spray cans!!! A decent job but complete with runs and orange peel. Was actually a 1 owner car. Grandfather gave it to his grandson who spray bombed it blue and then put at least 1 dent in every body panel. Lot of work to get it straight again.

Maybe another in the future. My wife passed away in June of last year and I've got to get my finances straightened out and then get my head screwed back on straight so I can get on with my life. Too much on my plate right now and can't even afford the plate much less anything on it!

Damn ....just noticed even the door handles are removed ... nice looking beast .... it looks like you put alot into this car.

I like that dash insert alot. Did you make it?

Its aluminum, actually 2 pieces welded together. Had to cut out the right side of the dash at the edge of where the instrument panel went in since the insert is about an inch longer to accomodate all the guages.
