Best mounting location for new floor shifter

So here's where it ended up. Its a little forward of the first pic, but still not too far forward.

So far I just mounted the shifter, haven't drilled a hole for the cable, so in the morning I'll jump in and try it again and if it still feels like its in the right spot I'll go ahead and finish up the installation.
